The Association of American Geographers has a position available for immediate placement at the AAGˇ¦s office in Washington, D.C.

Director of Geographic Information Science Programs. We seek an individual whose primary responsibility will be developing and administering programs in GISci education and research.  The successful applicant will be knowledgeable of a wide suite of GISci technologies and applications (GIS, GPS, remote sensing, internet mapping, etc.) and related public policy issues; possess strong research and analytical skills, especially survey analysis/development and interview methods. The Director of GISci programs will also assist in the development of grant proposals and newsletter articles and interact constructively with federal and other policy organizations. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified individuals to participate at a high level in AAG research and education initiatives. A qualified candidate will have a graduate degree in geography or GISci; possess outstanding written, research, and verbal communication skills; be highly organized and experienced with project management; and have strong interpersonal skills. Salary is commensurate with experience.
