Faculty
The Faculty include eighteen tenure/tenure-track professors assisted by seven lecturers and seven emeritus professors whose diverse interests make possible a wide variety of teaching specialties, ranging from coastal geomorphology to urban design to computer graphics. The SDSU Geography faculty have been recognized for achievements in their fields through numerous awards, research grants and Fulbright scholarships. They are both dedicated teachers and active scholars. Their research and other professional activities yield benefits to their students by way of in depth and current course content, equipment and data resources, and financial assistance. In addition to their University commitment, the geography faculty are actively involved in the community, serving such local organizations as water boards and planning commissions.
Staff
The Staff facilitate learning and research by handling the day to day administrative and technical aspects for the department.
