- Hydrologic modeling of river flows in Mediterranean-type ecosystems
- Using remotely sensed data in models to predict river flows and water quality
- Monitoring vegetation using digital imagery from aircraft and satellites including studies of invasive plants in the Fynbos biome of South Africa and vegetation conditions in southern California shrublands
