Medical Geography
The application of geographical information science concepts, perspectives and tools to the study of health, disease and health care. Medical geography can provide a spatiotemporal understanding of a population's health, the distribution of disease in an area, and the environment's effect on health and disease. In this sense, it is an interdisciplinary field involving the integration of different physical, biological, social and mathematical sciences (epidemiology, climatology, history, demographics, agriculture, stochastics, risk assessment etc.). It is also called Health Geographics.
